Botusemen Special

Botusemen Special is an extender specially developed for stallions more susceptible to cold damage. Its composition is based on adding essential lipids to maintain the plasma membrane stability during the cooling process. To improve your results, use Botusemen Special during centrifugation in freezing protocols.

Equine semen extender based on skimmed milk with the addition of cholesterol. Cholesterol is a component of the spermatic membrane that contributes to an increase in stability. Botusemen Special is highly recommended for pre-freezing centrifugation.

For fresh or cooled equine semen for horse breeding. Ideal for stallions especially sensitive to cooled transport.

The temperature of 5° C or 15° C can be used for semen cooled transport as well as for pre-freezing centrifugation. Use dilutions of 30 to 50 million/ml for cooled transport, respecting the minimum of 2 parts of extender to 1 part of semen.

In case of samples requiring centrifugation before cooled transport should be respected the resuspension of spermatozoa to 100 million/ml. DO NOT exceed the appropriate concentrations of cholesterol.

Cautions: Keep out of reach of children and animals.

Storage: After mixing the contents of the sachet with sterile water, store it at 2 to 8°C (35.6 to 46.4°F) for up to 3 days.

How to Prepare Botusemen Special: Add the sachet’s content to the sterile water and shake well.

How to use Botusemen Special: The minimum dilution rate for preserving sperm motility during storage is 2 parts extender to 1 part semen, aiming for a final sperm concentration of 30 to 50 million total sperm per mL.

Important: In cases where centrifugation before the cooling process is necessary, resuspend the sperm pellet at a final concentration of 100 million total sperm per mL.

Botusemen Special Composition: UHT sterilized skim milk powder, sugars, amino acids, antioxidants, cholesterol, and excipients.

100 mg gentamicin and 100 mg penicillin per 100 ml.
