Phantom FAQ
Q |
Once I place my order, how long before I receive my phantom? |
A |
If the phantom is in stock, you should allow 1 week for delivery. |
Q |
How will the phantom be shipped, and how much will the shipping cost? |
A |
The phantom will be shipped by common carrier FOB from Michigan. The shipping weight is approximately 500 pounds. The shipping cost varies with destination. Some approximate examples are to Texas; around $250, to the Midwest or the west coast; around $300, or to California; around $450. There is also a $92 charge if the customer requires a liftgate truck to get the phantom unloaded. There may be an additional charge of $70 if the delivery is to a residential area or not near a city. The current carrier's definition of Residential is: "The term Residential applies to private residences, apartments, dormitories, estates, farms, home based businesses, ranches, rectories, arsonages or other locations where the entire premises on which a dwelling for living is located is not open to the walk-in public during normal business hours." |
Q |
How much assembly is required when I receive the phantom? |
A |
Assembly for both syles of phantoms is simple. Individually, the legs and body are completely assembled. After the leg sleeves are set in concrete (an alignment jig is included with the phantom), you will only need to attach the legs to the body. This requires only one bolt per leg, and the bolts are included in the shipment. If you need the instructions please contact us. |
Q |
How do we set the correct height and angle of our new Phantom? |
A |
We recommend that you set the height of the mounting end at the approximate height of the mare that your stallion would breed. The angle should be slightly higher in the front. |
Q |
Why would I need a fleece or leather blanket for my Phantom? |
A |
The blankets protects the fabric of the Phantom from hoof cuts, but more importantly, it protect the front legs of the stallion from abrasions which sometimes result from frequent mounting. The Blankets with hips have a material built into the fleece blanket which simulates a mare's hips, and provides additional stability for the stallion who is accustomed to resting his front legs on the mares hips. |
